Well, the crafting moments here lately have been "knitting with sick child on lap" style. I was literally giddy last night when the two youngest kids were sound asleep... no coughing! And the oldest two were watching a movie on the laptop, a rare treat in this house. All this added up means "mama time".
I finally got brave enough to cut into my Heather Ross Camper stash. (see here and here for my fetish) I recently got the coordinating polka dot print on ebay for a mere $3.99 a yard. How I do love a good bargain!
So I made a little quilt, whole cloth style, and it turned out so nice. Cotton fabric front and back with a piece of flannel in the middle to add some weight. It made for some extra ironing, but the wavy looking border adds a lot of funk appeal to the quilt :) I didn't prewash the fabric, I did this on purpose. If you make a blanket and wash it after you sew, you get this rumpled shaggy chic look that I absolutely adore! I had SO much fun using the BSR foot on my new Bernina to do the quilting. I'm still in awe of that machine. It makes sewing so much more fun :)
Anyhow, on to the photos:
