Today I'd like to introduce and share a bit about Gypsy Forest Sponsor Mamma4Earth......
In Linda's words: At Mamma4Earth you'll find the most delightful handknitted treasures and patterns. All my items are knitted with beautiful pure merino sheep wool from the Cape in South Africa and filled with pure fleece. This beautiful handspun & hand-dyed fiber makes very special farmyard characters, forest animals and waldorf inspired friends.
stephinie ~ tell us a little about your business and who you are....
Hello! I'm Linda, I live with my husband, Richard and our four children in South Africa. I really love designing toy animal knitting patterns and most of my inspiration comes from this beautiful country where we live. We have an abundance of wildlife and game parks that are so nearby that it's always possible for me to study animals in their natural habitat. I like to understand an animal's habits and movement and this gives me the knowledge to design a pattern as close to the animals form and character as possible.
stephinie ~ you have so many fun patterns in your shop, can you tell us who your favorite is right now?
Linda ~ I have two favourite patterns in my shop at the moment, Pickles the Cat and The Guardian Owl. They are two of my largest designs and are both easy knits. We have had two lovely test knits for them on my Ravelry group Mamma4earth, such fun!
stephinie ~ you are a busy homeschooling family of six and a small business owner, how do you find balance in your days?
Linda ~ Balance is a wonderful thing and can be elusive at times. It's wonderful when we have it though isn't it? We have a large family and need to look after everyone's needs. Both Richard and I work, Richard out of the home and myself in the home. I run my business and love that I can be here for my children when they need me. We homeschool and with the older girls now being in highschool, he have had to look for tutors to help with subjects like physics, chemistry , maths and afrikaans. I work with Kye, he is in grade 1 and we have a teacher that comes in to teach as well, for the older children. I am very grateful for this as it has given me the time to find balance and not burn myself out. It took me a long time to realise that giving myself a small amount of (me time) each day, would make me a more centred mom, well most of the time :)
