what we've been up to.......
:: apple picking (one of those Vita bags holds 26 pounds, in case you ever wondered)
:: apple baking
:: reclaimed building projects
:: swinging zipping
:: silk dyeing & sewing
:: crushing on watermelon radishes (at least half of us anyway)
:: breakfast with our toes at the heating vent (the other half of us)
:: pinching ourselves when we look at our backyard (okay, that's just Joe & I)
It's been busy. Which I'm noticing is just how things are these days. I'm not sure how or why it feels busier than normal. I think maybe it's because there are just so many things I want to do and not nearly enough time to do them all. Such is life, right?
I finally got my new blankets done. Luxury weight silk & organic flannel. I can't wait to show you. I'll be dyeing up women's scarves today and tomorrow in hopes of having another shop update this Friday. Any color requests for scarves? I'd love to know what you mamas (and papas too) would like to see.
I hit the thrift store last night with my younger three kids while we were out running errands and I managed to find six shirts and four pairs of pants for my youngest girl. One of which was a teal pair of stonewashed skinny jeans. When Joe saw them he said "wow, hello 1992." I think parachute pants from '94 are the next big thing. MC Hammer style. My kids think I'm wrong, but you never know. I mean, who knew leg warmers would be back?
That's it for today. I've got pictures of our reclaimed building project up next and I think I owe you a bread recipe too. Spelt no knead. Lots of butter and jam. So. Very. Good.
